Description
Kawai Kanjiro (1890-1966) was a principal figure in the mingei movement. His works are renowned for their creativity and rustic appeal, and his contribution to Japan's ceramic making history is profound and far-reaching. Today, a small handful of his descendants, like Kawai Akiteru, keep the craftsman spirit alive with their own style of mingei pottery.
These stoneware tea cups are done in a cobalt blue (gosu) glaze with elegant, high-relief slip detailing (senmon).
A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist. Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.
