É-garatsu Saké Cup by Wada Tōzan
Karatsu is a style of high-fired pottery which originated in Japan's Kyushu region in the 15th and 16th century and is denoted by iron brushed images under a translucent glaze - "pictures" called é in Japanese. With the introduction and proliferation of porcelain in 17th century in the same area, Karatsu suffered a long decline but has recently undergone a revival among pottery enthusiasts who appreciate its warmth and simplicity.
Wada Tōzan helps keep the Karatsu tradition alive with the introduction of this charming é-garatsu saké cup.
