Description
A set of distinctive stoneware beer glasses by Tamba potter Nagai Ken. Unglazed and unadorned, they have a natural, rustic flavor characteristic of wood-fired Tamba wares. The intense heat within Tenkū-gama, Nagai's noborigama climbing kiln, produces hī-iro ("fire color") gradations of rust red to dark brown, and swirling embers of red pine form a natural glaze which is rough yet pleasing to the touch.
Skillfully handcrafted to an exacting thinness, these lightweight glasses resonate when tapped on the rim. They are sure to become a beer drinker's favorite.
Best when chilled before use.
