Description
Hailing from Kyoto's Uji region, an area steeped in the history and aesthetics of tea culture, is ceramic artist Tamaya Kōsei. Since establishing his kiln in 1998, he has devoted himself to the production of porcelain wares for tea and works almost exclusively in copper-based glazes.
From his newly fired ceramic pieces comes this delightful saké cup. Copper glazed and bearing the afterimage of an actual kōyō autumn leaf, a secret technique which the artist closely guards, this wide-brimmed cup is sure to become a saké drinkers cherished vessel.
