Ginshō Tenmoku Saké Flask by Kamada Kōji

Description

Through constant experimentation and refinement, Kamada Kōji has produced a number of glazes over the years, each one further adding to the breadth and brilliance of his tenmoku artistry.

This saké flask is done in the artist's signature ginshō tenmoku glaze.  The high iron content in the glaze gives the cup a distinctive brushed metal-like finish with subtle hints of cobalt blue.  The golden rim and low-relief lines (tsuisen) add a sense of refined luxury.

The proud addition to any saké lover's tokkuri collection.

Kamada Kōji's tenmoku works are held in private collections around the world and, in 2005, were acquired by New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for display in their Asian Art collection.
