Description
This striking dish set by Wada Hiroaki was wood-fired at Ōizumi-gama - the Wada family's noborigama climbing kiln. The orange to rust red gradation is the result of a complex yōhen reaction between intense heat, minerals in the clay, and the salt content in the sea shells used to separate each dish while stacked in the kiln and whose imprint still remains.
Smaller dishes (kozara) like these are used in Japanese cooking to serve sashimi, small starters or desserts.
A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist. Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.
