Description
A stoneware tsubo jar by the late Kawai Takéichi. It is decorated with floral motifs (kamon) elegantly rendered in iron and copper underglaze brushwork.
Kawai was both nephew and student to the legendary mingei master Kawai Kanjirō and collaborated with him for over 40 years. When he died in 1989, he left behind a modest cache of works which have never been available to the public - until now. 2000 Cranes is honored to have been given exclusive access to these very special pieces.
A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by a representative of the Kawai Takéichi estate. Delivery time for this item is 3 weeks.
