Description
Wada Tōzan is an accomplished artist with over 40 years experience producing the finest ceramics for tea ceremony. He excels in enamel overglazed pottery and porcelain, and his works are renowned for their floral motifs and traditional patterns rendered with impeccable detail and precision.
This tea ceremony bowl is cobalt glazed and decorated with an intricate pattern rendered in 24-carat gold leaf. The level of handwork is astounding. Each minute detail is cut and embossed in a technique pioneered by Wada Tōzan himself and officially named kirikané.
The body of the bowl is precisely formed from a mix of clay and porcelain and balanced upon a well-crafted footring bearing the artist's name stamp. The inside holds the kanji character for good fortune, or kotobuki, and this resplendent piece is certain to bring its owner just that.
A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist. Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.
A fukusa display cloth is included.
