Description
Ash glazing specialist Ikai Yūichi follows a new creative tangent and proudly introduces this shinshayū green tea cup. Shinshayū, or cinnabar glaze, is a copper glaze denoted by its deep crimson hues.
The cup is skillfully formed from porcelain clay and textured with deeply cut incisions. These help the glaze cascade across and down the body of the piece while in the kiln, resulting in an attractive, fluid effect uncommon on other porcelain pieces.
It is sure to become a green tea lover's closely guarded treasure.
