Description
This iron-glazed tea ceremony bowl by Wada Hiroaki was fired at Ōizumi-gama - the Wada family's wood-burning noborigama climbing kiln. While cooling in the kiln, the high iron content in the glaze (tetsu-yū) separates from wood ash, producing a feathered effect, called "hare's fur," which is similar to that found on tenmoku wares.
When filled with matcha, the verdant color of the tea strikes a beautiful harmony with its ochre colored surroundings and is truly a sight to behold.
A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist. Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.
A fukusa display cloth is included.
