Description
Ikai Yūichi's creative inspiration is derived from nature, and many of the glazing techniques in which he works have some reference to textures found in the natural world.
This spouted saké decanter is done in an ash glaze called kawa-kujira. While cooling in the kiln, its characteristic beads and bumps form around the claybody, and the effect is said to resemble the texture of whale (kujira) skin.
The unique addition to any saké vessel collection.
A wooden presentation box will be custom made to order and signed by the artist. Delivery time for this item is 2 weeks.
